Rusatom Smart Utilities and Tashkent Mayor’s Office Plan to Cooperate in the Sphere of Energy Supply of Uzbekistan Capital

Tashkent hokimiyat (city administration) plans to involve Rusatom Smart Utilities (is part of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM) in improvement of electric power and heat supply and modernization of public utilities infrastructure of Uzbekistan capital.

On February 27, 2023, acting hokim (head) of Tashkent administration Bakhtiyor Rakhmonov met with Yury Mishin, director of the project office Energy-efficiency of Rusatom Smart Utilities. The meeting was also attended by Shorukh Rakhimzhonov, acting deputy hokim of Tashkent and heads of the organizations responsible for the public utilities sector of the capital.

The parties discussed in detail the issues of improvement of electricity and heat supply of Tashkent, prevention of serious irregularities in the system and modernization of the public utilities sphere as a whole. Bakhtiyor Rakhmonov paid special attention to the situation in the electric energy system of Tashkent and mentioned implemented and planned works, as well as presented an offer concerning future cooperation with Rosatom.

During the meeting, the parties considered lines and prospects of mutual cooperation. Yury Mishin stressed a possibility of holding an efficient inventory survey in the system organizations, application of modern methods and technologies in work. He also emphasized: positive results can be achieved in the event of cooperative work of both parties. According to him, a working group consisting of necessary specialists will be sent to Tashkent soon.
