ROSATOM's Smart Cities Presented at BRICS+ Forum

The delegation of Rusatom Smart Utilities (is part of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM) has taken part in the work of the V International Municipal BRICS+ Forum “At the Junction of Past and Future: Global Transformation”. The event was held in Saint Petersburg with the assistance of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo (Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation) and Saint Petersburg Government. The speakers of Rusatom Smart Utilities, together with the experts from the four corners of the world, discussed the way modern technologies help improve living standards.

The report by Alexey Golubev, President of the Association of Closed Administrative-Territorial Units of Atomic Sector, General Director of Digital Platforms and Smart City Solutions, JSC (is part of Rusatom Smart Utilities) at the panel discussion “Socio-economic Implications of Projects Aimed at Ensuring the Safety of Nuclear Heritage Facilities for Nearby Settlements”, co-organized by TVEL JSC, was met with great interest. He shared experience in formation of the legislative support of the sustainable development of the territories of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM’s presence, told about the measures of the state support of the atomic industry cities, programs of the social and economic development and digital transformation, including the implementation of Smart City technologies.

Elena Semenova, GR-Director of Digital Platforms and Smart City Solutions, JSC, during the session “Smart City – Smart Country”, organized together with the project directorate of the RF Ministry of Construction, presented real cases of comprehensive implementation of the digital technologies of Smart City, which are applied today in more than 100 cities of Russia. In her presentation, she told about the solutions aimed to convert the areas ensuring development of unique peculiarities of a territory into the digital service, experience in the implemented projects of building digital resource supply, Intelligent Transport systems, etc. Elena focused on the efficiency of the uniform comprehensive approach to infrastructural and digital development of cities in terms of ensuring sustainable development.

More than 7,000 people took part in the annual BRICS+ forum, including delegates from 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and foreign representatives from more than 200 foreign cities. Nearby 20,000 people from 104 countries joined the forum using online platforms.

The forum unites the cities of the world for the purpose of the exchange of successful territory management practices, development of export and import interaction and cooperation in various aspects. Expert sessions and sections, plenary meeting, business conferences and panel discussions, master classes, presentations of investment projects and round tables were held within the framework of the business program of the forum. 112 events of the business program were held; 1,340 speakers made addresses; 210 cooperation agreements were signed.
