Rosatom and Sochi Administration Develop Smart City Technologies

The Sochi City Administration and Rusatom Smart Utilities (is part of the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM) are deploying the platform Smart City in the city. The project is aimed to create comfortable and safe digital environment for the citizens. The solution will create additional opportunities for a dialogue between residents and authorities; the city dwellers will be able to take part in the development of the territory and accelerate settlement of city problems. The project team creates a web version of the platform Smart City, launches the key service Residents’ Applications, implements the Single Contact Center. Within the framework of the development of the program, new socially important modules are planned for implementation at the beginning of the year 2023.

The solution is implemented on the basis of the integrated digital platform elaborated by Rusatom Smart Utilities. This is 100% Russian product which takes into account import-substitution requirements; it unites external systems and allows to manage city infrastructure efficiently. The latest version of the Platform Smart City version 2.0 is implemented in Sochi.

At the first stage of the project Smart City Sochi, a service is launched which will allow residents to inform the administration of the problems and initiatives promptly, and receive feedback on the results of the work on the application. To use it, residents may visit the official web portal of Sochi or download the application. Besides, the single contact center will unite all channels of information entry in the municipal control center, allow to supervise performance of long-term tasks by sector-specific executing entities. Moreover, the modules analyzing execution of tasks and monitoring incidents are implemented.

The technologies of Rosatom’s Smart City today operate in different regions of Russia – from the Murmansk Region to Sakhalin. The platform is implemented as an independent solution or is integrated with available software products of the municipality and public services. After implementation, Rusatom Smart Utilities’s experts train authorized employees.

“Our most important tasks are a constant open dialogue with residents and provision of quick response to all applications. Digitalization of all economic and managerial processes continues in Sochi successfully, which is aimed to improve quality of life of our city dwellers; the number of online services is growing. The digital platform Smart City Sochi allows to monitor the current situation in the resort in real time mode in all areas. We implement it stage by stage. The next stage supposes implementation of all other modules which are socially important. All this addresses the convenience of our residents, they are involved in the city life to the maximum extent possible; together we define ways of problems solution and priorities of development of territories,” emphasized Alexey Kopaigorodsky, head of Sochi.

“The aim of our joint work with the city administration is to provide the residents with modern and convenient instruments allowing to apply to the authorities, ensure quick response to the needs of people, reduce load on the employees of the city administration. I believe that our solutions will become important helpers in the further development of the city and creation of new growth points,” noted Kseniya Sukhotina, general director of Rusatom Smart Utilities, JSC.

The project Smart City Sochi is implemented within the framework of the national project Dwelling and City Environment and the national program Digital Economy. It consists in the city-planning concept of implementation of a large number of information technologies to manage city infrastructure: transport, education, health care, housing and public utilities systems, security, etc.
